Breathe California, Golden Gate Public Health Partnership
2012-Present | San Francisco Bay Area
Since 1905, Breathe California, Golden Gate has been advancing public health, fighting lung disease, and advocating for clean air through grassroots education, advocacy and services.
As the Communications Director for Breathe California, a public health organization dedicated to health equity, I am responsible for all external agency communications; both by way of traditional media and new media platforms.
In 2014, I launched a re-branding initiative connecting new media platforms to optimize Breathe’s web presence, expanding its reach, and increasing its engagement with current and potential partners. This included a comprehensive re-design and restructuring of the Breathe California, GGPHP website, which I took initiative and direction implemented. Now, as of Sept., 2015, 20% of all unique visitors to Breathe’s website come through our social media strategic plan and regularly updated blog. During my time as Communications Director there has been 537% increase to our main ggbreathe.org website.
Additionally, as Breathe’s Director of Communications, I’ve secured press attention from the San Francisco Chronicle, The Examiner, and The San Mateo Daily Journal.
